House in Serifos island, Greece

The project refers to the design of five new holiday residences on Serifos Island, with varying sizes ranging from 40 m² to 100 m², maintaining a consistent overall philosophy in terms of the relationship between the buildings and the natural environment. The typological grouping includes variations while preserving the primary element of visible stone masonry and large, narrow windows. The simple and unpretentious form of the buildings ensures their presence is as discreet as possible in a pristine setting. The placement of the buildings has been designed with a focus on maximizing the view and ensuring the privacy of the residences. The relationship between the exterior and interior spaces is fundamental to the design, with the external area playing a leading role in the holiday homes. Following a set of constraints regarding the typology of forms, the project aims to challenge the naive imitation of traditional forms. It seeks to establish a new morphological identity that integrates within the traditional framework, evolving it in relation to new living conditions and contemporary construction technologies. Tο έργο αναφέρεται στο σχεδιασμό 5 νέων εξοχικών κατοικιών στη Σέριφο με διαφορετικά μεγέθη από 40τ.μ έως 100τ.μ με ίδια γενικά φιλοσοφία ως προς τη σχέση των κατοικιών προς το φυσικό περιβάλλον αλλά σε μια ομαδοποίηση τυπολογιών με παραλλαγές κρατώντας πάντα όμως σαν κύριο στοιχείο την εμφανή λιθοδομή και τα μεγάλα στενόμακρα παράθυρα. Η λιτή και απέριττη μορφή των κτισμάτων κάνει την παρουσία τους όσο γίνεται πιο διακριτική σε ένα παρθένο τόπο. Η τοποθέτηση των κτιρίων έχει γίνει με γνώμωνα τη μεγαλύτερη εκμετάλλευση της θέας και την ιδιωτικότητα των κατοικιών. Η σχέση του έξω και του μέσα είναι θεμελιώδης στο σχεδιασμό καθώς ο εξωτερικός χώρος γίνεται πρωταγωνιστής στις εξοχικές κατοικίες. Ακολουθώντας μια σειρά περιορισμούς ως προς την τυπολογία των μορφών γίνται προσπάθεια στην ανατροπή κάποιας ανεπιτήδευτης μίμησης παραδοσιακών μορφών και στην προσπάθεια ανέυρεσης μιας νέας μορφολογικής ταυτότητας που να εντάσσεται στα παραδοσιακά πρότυπα εξελίσσοντας τα σε σχέση με τίς νέες συνθήκες διαβίωσης και τις νέες τεχνολογίες κατασκευής.
